CHA Mega Show 2015 | Electronic Diecutting News
The electronic diecutting segment of the scrapbooking industry has been growing rapidly in recent years. The CHA Mega Show 2015 was a chance to see the latest from many of the segment's manufacturers.
Sizzix
A new version of the Sizzix Eclips 2 will hit stores this May, featuring Bluetooth technology. Electronic diecutting enthusiasts will be able to beam image files from tablets, smartphones, and other enabled devices right to the machine. The recently updated, cartridge-free Eclips 2 has an MSRP of $299, and the new Bluetooth version will retail for $349.
Brother ScanNCut
Brother rolled out new glitter sheets, sticker sheets, and iron-on foils to complement their Scan ‘n’ Cut machine.
Silhouette
Silhouette’s big promotion at the CHA Mega Show 2015 was the recent unveiling of scan and cut technology for both their Cameo and Portrait machines. Using a smartphone camera and the new Pix Scan Mat, crafters can turn a photo of any printed, stamped, or hand-drawn image into a cut file. The Cameo mat measures 8.5” x 11.5” and the Portrait version is 7.5” x 11.5”. The mats retail for $14.99 each.
Craftwell
The Cut ‘n’ Boss, retailing for $269, is essentially a manual diecutter that uses an electronic motor to pull diecutting plates through the machine, eliminating the need for a manual crank. It comes with multiple adapter plates, to cut and emboss using any manual dies or embossing folders, including a set of brand new designs for Craftwell by Teresa Collins.
