Make An Easy Scrapbook Layout in 15 Minutes!

I really love using paper strips in my scrapbook layouts. They make it easy to fill space, create lines, and create movement on a page. With a few stickers, they are even all you need to make a simple layout!

Stupid Baby Tricks

The current project that I have underway to reorganize my photos (more on that soon!) has reminded me how many photos I have hidden away in boxes instead of in albums where people can see them. So I'm super motivated to get as many as possible onto pages, and quick pages like this help a lot with that project!

Supplies Needed:

  • BoBunny "Little Wonders" collection patterned papers:

    • Sophia

    • Victoria

    • American Crafts alphabet stickers (assorted)

    • cardstock

    • black pen

For this layout I used patterned papers from the BoBunny "Little Wonders" collection. This navy blue based baby collection has papers that are designed for both baby boy and baby girl themes. I used strips from both sides of the Victoria sheet, along with one from the striped side Sophia sheet. (Striped paper makes really great strips if you cut across the stripes!)

The one error that I made in designing this layout is that I placed the strips too high on the page, so that there was too much white space at the bottom. The layout would be better balanced if everything was moved down the page a bit. Oh well, every page can't be a masterpiece and I got these photos into my album now!

By using cardstock for one of the paper strips I created a natural place to put my journaling. Or I could also have put it on the light patterned strip at the bottom.I didn't initially intend to use two different sticker fonts but I couldn't fit two rows of the one I used for "Tricks". Using the shorter, flat script font helps put the emphasis on the word "tricks" so I ended up being pleased with the effect.

Strip layouts like this are a great way to use up your paper scraps, and get photos in your albums fast!

Have you tried a paper strip layout? What is your favorite shortcut for fast layouts?
